Consequences
Hopefully, you will never have to worry about this. But we have rules on this site, and when they are not followed, there are consequences.
The breaking of any of the Global Rules results in immediate punishment. At first, a staff will warn you that you have broken a rule. After that, you will get a 30% warning for each time the offense happens.
The breaking of any of the In-Character Rules have their own specific warnings; please see the Roleplaying Rules thread for details.
The breaking of any of the staff rules results in either a ban or getting demoted. As staff, I expect you to help the site, not hinder it. It's okay, of course, to have different ideas than your fellow staffers, but if someone above you asks you to do something, just do it, unless you think it's a bad idea. Then take it up with me. But if it is for a good reason and you do not comply, you will get a 15% warning.
Of course, you can't have a Co Admin threaten a mod with a ban for not accepting a bio... that's why all of my staff are well trusted, or they don't get the spot. If someone is abusing that power and trust, tell me immediately through a PM.
The Warning System.
As you probably have noticed, I have talked about different percents of warnings. This shows as a little red or gray bar in your mini-profile, and it also shows the reason why you have that percent, I believe. The percents show how close you are to getting banned.
I warned myself one percent to show you what it looks like, but I wasn't really warned. FYI.
40%
You can get banned for 3 days. Not that bad.
If you are a Co. Admin, guess what? You're now a Global Mod.
50%[/u]
Reaching 50% really puts you in the danger zone.
You're banned for a week.
If you're any sort of staff, you just got demoted to the rank below you. The ranking is
Co. Admins, G mods, mods, members.
60% and up for staff[/u]
You are banned for 2 weeks, and guess what? You're a member on probation. However, once you are made a member, and this applies to mods at 50%, your warning goes down to 5%, and you have a chance to start over.
60%
You are banned for a week in a half. If you are a leader, you'll probably end up with a moderator stalking you on the site. Any other members will just see that any threads they are in have gotten a lot of views...
70% and up
You're banned for two to three weeks, depending on what you did to get to 70%. When you come back, you and I will have a little chat, and if you're lucky, I'll reduce your warnings.
How do I lose percent?
Well, it depends on the rule. If you get up to say, 40% and it's the same rule, I or another staffer will talk to you about why you are breaking that rule, and if in the next week we see that you have been abiding the rule that got you up to 40% in the first place, we will thank you, and you will have a clean record.
If it's a multitude of rules, we'll just tell you which ones you've broken, nag you until you go to the thread that they apply to, and then in the next week if you are doing better, we will drop some of the percent, and you might get down to zero eventually.
If you were a staffer before you got demoted because of this system, you will have to get your percent down to nothing if you want to be a staff again. Sorry.
I think I covered everything, but please feel free to reply to this thread with questions. [/color]
