*For more on the warning system, see the "Consequesnces and the Warning System" thread.
Basic Rules
~* When posting in character, everything you type and post reflects your character, not you. So, don't be talking about any twoleg things that are happening right now while you're posting for your character. OOC notes are fine, but don't just switch to OOC in the middle of your post. It gets really annoying.
Also, people have to realize that you are talking out of character. For that, you can either have it un-colored (but only if your in-character text is colored), put OOC: for the note and then IC: when you go back in character. Another few ways are to use "(note)", "{note}", my personal favorite is "xx. note .xx". There are a ton of ways; just make sure other people understand it!
~* EclipseClan is the equivalent of StarClan, and for those who don't know what StarClan is, in the warrior books, StarClan are the wise warrior ancestors that guide the 4 Clans of the forest. It's made out of, to put it bluntly, dead cats.
~* When talking for your character, you need to use "these" and/or bold it. When your character is thinking, you need to use 'these' and/or italicize it.
~* DON'T CURSE IN CHARACTER! In my time Roleplaying, I have seen a LOT of people have their characters say HUMAN cuss words. You can curse in the cat-language, but be aware of the intensity of each of the cat curse words.
~* When in character, your posts should be at least 50 words. See "Word Minumum" for details.
~* Follow all other RPing rules. No godmodeling, powerplaying, etc. If you are caught using these, a staff will post an OOC note in the thread, and if it is not fixed, you will receive a 10% warning.*
~* Behold! You've found the password for the bio board. It's 'rogue'
The Dark Forest and EclipseClan cats[/u]
Because we need EclipseClan cats to present leaders with nine lives and such, I do permit dead cats to be roleplayed.
However, if you are going to enter the dreams of a mortal cat, then you have to have some significance to the cat you are visiting the dreams of.
EclipseClan cats can only visit leaders and medicine cats unless there is a special prophecy cat! If a staffer sees an EC cat in the dreams of any other cats, you will lose the roleplaying rights to that character.
Also, if you want to participate in special events such as a medicine cat gathering or you want to present a leader with one of his/her nine lives, you must talk to a staffer and the roleplayer of the cat whose dreams you wish to enter.
Dark forest cats are a different matter.
There can only be so many evil cats at one time, so you must have permission from a staffer to walk in the dreams of any mortal cat. You will lose roleplaying rights to that character if you are in the wrong place with your character.
Also, you need the permission, as usual, of the RPer of the cat you wish to try to influence. For anything else, you must stay to your little board next to EclipseClan's. Occasionally you can talk with another cat, but not too often.
The bios of these cats are no different of the mortal cats, but if you know ahead of time what cats your EC or DF cat has a relationship to, make sure to put that in the history.
When a cat dies, it must be quite evil to go to the Dark Forest. The majority of cats will go to EclipseClan. Once your cat has died, their bio will be moved to the EclipseClan subboard unless they are too evil to be accepted among the ranks of EclipseClan. [/color]
Word Minimum
Since this is a semi-lit and up site, there is a word count minimum for in-character posts. That limit is 50. Now, you may have noticed that there is a word count thing below the "post", "preview" and "spell check" buttons. Because of that, there is no excuse for you to have less than 50 words on a post, because that will show you if you do or not. OOC notes do not count.
To enforce this, you will get a 5% warning*, and a staff will post an OOC note on the thread about the length.
Bios
~* You may only have one high spot (leader, deputy, med cat, med cat apprentice)
~* You can only have 10 cats
~* The password for the bio board can be found in the rules somewhere.
~* Your bio will not be accepted unless it matches the bio format minimums
~* After the first set of high spots are taken, there will by try-outs for the spots, held by the RPer of the leader or medicine cat of the Clan.
For right now, you just have to make the bio for a high spot for it to be accepted.
~* Only staff have the right to accept bios
~* Your bio must be accepted before you can Roleplay with that character. You will get a 10% warning if a staff sees you RPing before your character was accepted.
Time.
Since every leader leads their Clan differently, I cannot speak for them. However, whichever Clan you are in, time stays the same. When you start a thread, you lock it to that IC day, unless you say that a day has passed or something. The following is just to determine the age of your character, so you know when you can move up in ranks.
Other limits
Apprentices:
You must have at least two training sessions with your mentor before you can become a warrior - one hunting, one fighting.
Ranks:
I trust the leaders and deputies to be active enough to supervise when the kits and apprentices are ready to move up a rank.
New Deputies:
Leaders, you should know when your deputy dies. The date of the thread that you post for the Clan meeting should be the same as the date that your deputy died, or a day later.
Also, when you are appointed as leader, you should post any other rules other than the ones stated in the warrior code below this post - make sure your Clan members know them as well. I can and will override any rules that are completely ridiculous for your Clan.

The following is just to determine the age of your character, so you know when you can move up in ranks.
- Kits: 1 OOC day = 2 weeks. Therefor, you have 12 OOC days as a kit before you are 6 moon old; old enough to become an apprentice.
- Apprentices: 1 OOC day = 1 week. How long you stay an apprentice is up to your leader and/or deputy. However, you can be no younger than 12 moons, and no older than, say, 17 moons. The average is 14 moons - 56 OOC days as an apprentice, give or take 3 days.
- Warriors in general: 1 day = 2 days. Yes time passes very slowly for you, but you have plenty of things to do during the day, don't you?

You must have at least two training sessions with your mentor before you can become a warrior - one hunting, one fighting.
Ranks:
I trust the leaders and deputies to be active enough to supervise when the kits and apprentices are ready to move up a rank.

Warrior Code[/u]
- Every cat should defend his or her Clan, even at the cost of their life.
- You should not trespass or hunt on another Clans territory. If a patrol catches them, they then have permission to chase them off their land.
- Kits and elders should be fed first, and, unless they have special permission, apprentices cannot eat until the elders have all been fed.
- prey is not killed for sport. You should not kill anything unless someone plans on eating it. You must also give StarClan thanks for its life.
- kits must be six moons old in order to become an apprentice.
- new warriors must sit a silent vigil, and watch over the camp while the others sleep. They cannot say a word, and must sit outside no matter what the weather is like.
- a Clan cat cannot become the deputy of their Clan without having mentored at least one apprentice.
- should the leader of a Clan die or retire, the deputy shall replace the leader.
- If a deputy dies or retires, the leader must then choose a successor before moonhigh.
- Once every full moon, the Clans must have a Gathering with each other. Also, there shall be no fighting among them during this time. And if they do fight, MoonClan sends a cloud to cover the moon, showing they are angry.
- The Clan boundaries must be checked and marked by patrols daily. Also, if a patrol finds a trespassing cat, they must chase him off of their territory. This is one of the most commonly broken rule, with many Clans crossing boundaries to catch prey.
- No warrior can ever ignore a kit in pain or danger. This rule applies even if the kit is from a different Clan.
- The word of a Clan leader is also the Warrior Code.
- An honorable cat does not kill in battle, unless the opposing cats are outside the Warrior Code, or if they have to kill in self-defense.
- A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
